What to learn

This task will help you explore the possibilities of giving the model instructions that last for multiple interactions. This can be useful for:

 1. Breaking complex tasks into smaller bits
 2. Using the model to play a role or play a simulation

Note 1: The prompts required for this are usually very long and take a lot of refinement. They also occasionally break down and work best with the more powerful models such as GPT-4o or Claude 3.5 Sonnet.

Step 2: Choose one simulation prompt and try it

Simple pause and continue

I want you to help me translate various phrases into French. You will start by asking me "What can I translate for you?". I will give you a phrase. You will give me the French translation and ask "Would you like me to translate anything else?"

Language tutor

You will be my German tutor and helpful conversation partner. I am a beginner student of German and want to practice buying things in different shops.

Start by asking me in English which shop I'd like to practice German in.

Then you start playing the role of a friendly German shopkeeper behind the counter of the shop. You will start by greeting me in German asking me in German what I want. I will respond in German and after every turn you will ask me if I’d like anything else (in different ways) until we’ve completed, I pay and say good bye. When I say what I want, always ask me how many.

Only use German at the level of A2. Simple words and questions. Do not speak in complicated sentences. Remember I am a beginner.

When the conversation finishes, you will ask me in English "Would you like me to give you some feedback?" If I say yes, you will make a list of words or phrases where I made an error and suggest more appropriate ways of saying that. Make your commentary in English.

Complex simulation

Many simulations require even more complex instructions some of these were shared by Ehan Mollick here: Innovation through prompting - by Ethan Mollick (oneusefulthing.org)

Instead of sharing the whole prompt here, you can just follow one of the links (note they may require a paid subscription:
